Summary
This 1- day Pregnant Employee Risk Assessors Workshop will provide participants with the knowledge and skills required to carry out pregnant employee risk assessments as required by the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 and the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (General Application) Regulations 2007.
At the end of the programme participants will:
- Outline the requirements of the regulations in relation to the protection of pregnant employees.
- Identify workplace hazards specific to pregnant and breastfeeding workers
- Identify aspects of pregnancy that may affect work
- Employ a pregnant worker risk assessment template
- Prepare a general pregnancy risk assessment
This programme is for:
Managers and Supervisors who are responsible for the completion of pregnancy risk assessments.
Approach
Programme participants are encouraged to express their views and experiences. The programme uses case studies and practical examples to facilitate participant discussion to ensure a thorough understanding of the key points and their application.

Programme Director
Darrell Fernandes
Darrell is an Ibec trainer and consultant with extensive knowledge in the areas of Occupational Safety and Health Management, Emergency Management, Crisis Management, Business Impact Analysis, Business Continuity Planning, Management Systems Development, Coaching and Mentoring, Facilitation and Communication Skills.
He also worked as an instructor and member of the Defence Force’s Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) and Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) incident response panel and is a regular contributing columnist for the Health and Safety Review providing expert insight and analysis regarding all aspects of Occupational Safety and Health Management.
