Summary

A focused and practical half-day programme that sets out a clear roadmap to compliance with ESG requirements and a sustainable business into the future.

At the end of the programme participants will:

  • Understand the true meaning of sustainability and how it applies to your business. 
  • Appreciate the scope of ESG requirements, and how they align with good corporate citizenship, incl. corporate social responsibility. 
  • Acquire the knowledge to design and adopt a robust ESG/sustainability framework, incl. strategy, policies, procedures/systems, and reporting.
  • Understand key concepts of ESG compliance, incl. carbon footprint and the circular economy, and how they apply to your business.
  • Be able to identify specific initiatives to promote sustainability within your organisation. 
  • Be comfortable in dealing with audit/reporting requirements for compliance with relevant ESG metrics.   
 

This programme is for:

Directors and senior managers who are responsible for ESG compliance and sustainability, Heads of key functions, including Finance, HR, IT, Legal & Compliance, and Operations and Project managers and team leaders of ESG-related initiatives. 

 

Approach

The programme has been designed to enhance participants' understanding and application of key ESG requirements in an informal, supportive setting. To achieve this objective, the programme consists of discussion and analysis of ESG requirements in the short term and, even more important, sustainability into the future. The programme's structure and content will ensure that participants acquire the knowledge and skills to steer your business towards ESG compliance, good corporate citizenship, and profitability on a sustainable basis.

Programme Facilitator 

Ian Long

Ian is an experienced facilitator and trainer with Ibec Academy. He is a results-driven policy professional and legal counsel with a deep understanding of ESG compliance. Ian is a subject-matter expert in Corporate Governance and Policy drafting and implementation. Committed and passionate about the environment and sustainability, Ian has a proven track record of successful implementation of regulatory policies and procedures, together with roll-out of essential training and awareness to ensure a culture of compliance. He has worked in close collaboration with cross-functional teams to achieve compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, across a range of sectors. These include: financial services (AIB Bank, Bank of Ireland Group): technology (Aon Centre for Innovation & Analytics, Groupon International, IAC Applications); and media (Independent Newspapers).
